5 Signs Your Phone Battery Needs Replacing
Phone dying by lunch? Here are 5 clear signs your battery is worn out — and how fast a battery replacement is at our Escondido repair shop.

Every phone battery wears out. They're consumables — after a few hundred charge cycles, capacity fades and strange behavior starts. Here are the five signs we see most often at the shop, and what to do about them.
1. It dies way too fast
The obvious one. If your phone used to last all day and now it's begging for a charger by lunch — with the same usage — the battery's capacity has degraded. Check your battery health in settings: on iPhone it's under Settings → Battery → Battery Health; many Android phones show it under Settings → Battery too.
2. It shuts off unexpectedly
A phone that dies at 30% — or restarts on its own — usually has a battery that can't deliver stable voltage anymore. This one tends to get worse fast, so don't ignore it.
3. It only works plugged in
If your phone dies the moment you unplug it, the battery is essentially done. It might also be a charging issue, but either way it's a quick diagnosis at the counter.
4. It's getting hot
Some warmth during charging or gaming is normal. A phone that's hot doing nothing — or a battery that feels swollen — needs attention right away. A swollen battery is a safety issue: stop using the phone, don't try to charge it, and bring it in. We'll handle it safely.
5. It's slow for no reason
Phones throttle performance when the battery can't keep up. If your phone got sluggish around the same time the battery life tanked, a fresh battery often brings the speed back too.
